Our History
Founded in 2016
The restaurant takes its name from a few historical tidbits and from the stunning scenery in which it's located.
In 1916, the Lake Toxaway dam broke and flooded the surrounding area. The story goes that the only casualty was an old blind mule. He quite literally never saw it coming.
The Toxaway Station part is important that the building is on the site of the former Toxaway Depot. The Depot was the last train stop on the route up from Asheville and Hendersonville when the area was primarily a logging area.
We also lived in England for awhile and truly felt this location looked exactly like a English pub in the countryside of Northern England. In that way, the building itself and the surrounding scenery spoke to us.
